The removal and
dismantlement of this 265 MVA transformer had to coincide with the
delivery of the replacement unit. This transformer was located in an
active 230 KV substation. The dismantlement process included pumping oil,
removing bushings, frame, coils, core steel and processing transformer
shell.
TRC America Demolition Services personnel have been
specially trained in the process of transformer dismantlement. Every
employee attends local utility training seminars to be qualified in
detecting the hazards of live substation work. TRC America Demolition Services ensures personnel are
trained and use all necessary safety equipment particular to the job
assignment.
During the
dismantlement process all necessary precautions are taken to ensure that
there is no environmental impact due to oil spills. Absorbent pads,
barriers and containment systems are used throughout the oil removal and
transformer dismantlement. We supply our customers with all necessary
manifests and test results for all oil disposed of.
Due to our
